The Torah famously commands us in the book of Devarim to "rejoice in our holiday" of Sukkot, and we refer to this chag as "the time of our joy." For many of us, fulfilling this mitzvah requires commitment, perseverance, and a little help from friends through emotional scaffolding. We also have literal scaffolding in front of our building that we put to use this week to spread joy, with staff and parents hanging up photos of things that make them happy.
Something that has given me tremendous joy over the past month, especially this week, is welcoming friends, supporters, and alums to our new home! I love taking people on building tours, stopping by each classroom for a dose of inspiration, and the inevitable giggle & hug. Thank you to the alums and grandparents who popped in this week.
