Sharing Our Hope for This First Yahrzeit of October 7th

Beit Rabban Day School

We hope this week has been supportive and meaningful for you as we enter the new year alongside the first yahrzeit of the October 7th attacks. With love and care, we are extending insight into the programming that took place this past Monday. In the morning, we gathered for a Community Tekes Ceremony where Stephanie Ives, our Head of School, framed the occasion with a presentation to the community.

We would like to share some of the material and moments from the day in hopes of providing comfort and context for how the children in our community are experiencing this time.

Below, you can find the following:

  • Stephanie's presentation at the Tekes (slides and notes).

  • The premiere performance of Makhelet Beit Rabban, the Chativah Choir, who performed "One Day" by Matisyahu.

  • The video shown in the presentation of the Jerusalem Youth Choir performing on America's Got Talent this year.

Looking ahead, please save the date Sunday, October 27 at 10:00 AM for the second program in a collaborative initiative between Beit Rabban and Congregation Darkhei Noam to support kibbutzim on Israel's borders. We will reconnect with partners in the Kibbutz Movement and kibbutzim in both the North and South to understand better what they are navigating at this moment and how we can support them. Look for an email invitation in the coming days.
