Dear Beit Rabban Community,
Thank you for a magical Someone Special Day! We had the pleasure of sharing our learning this morning with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and friends who are like family. Thank you to all those who joined. For those who were not able to make it - you are always welcomed to visit. We love guests, come learn with us and teach us!
I opened Someone Special Day this morning quoting the Talmudic passage for which our school is named: אין העולם מתקיים אלא בשביל הבל תינוקות של בית רבן "The world would not be sustained but for the breath of young children of the house of study." I experience this "breath" of children in the holy chatter I hear when walking through the halls of our school: the sound of learning, questioning, laughing. It sustains me personally and provides me with a deep sense of optimism for the future. Today, the holy chatter was on an even higher and more powerful volume with the added sounds of inter-generational learning. Despite all that is painful and broken in the world at this moment, I am entering Shabbat with a confidence that our children have our backs: their ideas, their love and their actions will continue to sustain us all.
Wishing all a restful and rejuvenating Shabbat,
